What is hire purchase?

The hire purchase corresponds to an installment plan. From the start of the contract, you as the hire-purchaser are the economic owner of the propertya, we retain title until the last hire-purchase installment has been paid.

After that, the legal ownership is also transferred to you.
In addtion to deprecation the interest expense can also be claimed as an operating expense in the case of installment plan. In the case of installment plan, VAT is payable on the total rent receivable at the start of the contract.
